On the afternoon of January 8, the Guangdong Business Community Joint Efforts Conference for Hezhou’s High-Quality Development and the Hezhou City Guangdong Chamber of Commerce 2024 New Year Gala were successfully held at the Ramada Hotel in Hezhou. The event was attended by more than 200 guests, including Yang Yuzhi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hezhou Municipal Party Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department; Xu Guoguang, Deputy Head of the United Front Work Department of the Hezhou Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Hezhou Federation of Industry and Commerce; Lai Fang, Chairman of the Hezhou Federation of Industry and Commerce; Lin Yusheng, a member of the CPPCC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, a Standing Committee member of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Federation of Industry and Commerce, and President of the Guangxi-Guangdong Chamber of Commerce; as well as representatives from the Guangdong International Chinese Business Association, the Guangdong Provincial Overseas Chinese Youth Committee, the Guangxi-Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, members of the Hezhou Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, and representatives of various business associations in Hezhou. Participants gathered in warm camaraderie to review 2023, look ahead to 2024, and share heartfelt sentiments about their hometowns.

The annual meeting was inaugurated with the rousing rendition of the National Anthem of the People’s Republic of China.

Over the past year, the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Hezhou has advanced hand in hand with its members, ushering in a new look and new momentum for development. Members have diligently explored and cultivated their respective fields, reaping abundant rewards. In 2023, the Chamber conducted 15 visits to member enterprises, participated in six events hosted by sister chambers and Guangdong Chambers in other cities, and added 11 vice-chair units as well as numerous new member enterprises. At present, the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Hezhou boasts nearly 100 member enterprises, spanning a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, construction, the full industrial chain of mining and mineral processing, real estate, and leasing and business services, thereby becoming a vital force driving Hezhou’s economic and social development.

A new year brings a fresh start and renewed hope. President Deng Peiyou urges all members to remain steadfast in their confidence, seize opportunities, and boldly scale new heights. On that day, Standing Committee Member Yang Yuzhi briefed the entrepreneurs on the basic situation of Hezhou City’s economic and social development in 2023. He also expressed the hope that the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Hezhou would steadfastly uphold ideological and political guidance, continue to focus on serving the central tasks and the overall national interest, serve as a bridge between its members and government departments, and provide dedicated, heartfelt services to member enterprises. Furthermore, he urged the chamber to pursue high-standard, standardized development by aligning itself with the national and Guangxi-level “four-good” criteria for chambers of commerce—excellence in ideological and political leadership, team building, service to development, and self-discipline and compliance—and to advance the chamber’s “two modernizations” (standardization and rule-of-law-based governance), so as to jointly foster the chamber’s stronger growth and development and promote the high-quality development of the private sector.
